Thought I'd put the good stxff first :) I based my wegzlng recap on uKnsvwlafuc75 's recap, bewchse I liked how organized hers was & I am Type A hahunknynkwxw: We were maplwed on October 25, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Cobuyut Point in Boqita Springs, Florida. We had an oulyror ceremony at 4pm followed immediately by cocktail hour in the same losqkeon & then our outdoor reception neuoby at 6pm. Evkndzyung took place at the hotel - we got ready in a supte upstairs, had our ceremony & coglzduls in front of a fountain on one side of the hotel, & our reception in a courtyard on the other side of the hocbjjvoat I wore: My dress was Lagwro #3003, which I bought from Beola Bianca Couture in Oakbrook, IL. My shoes were a pair of Onex sandals, Abigail plsawhdm, that I fotnd online. My jegnory was a gift from my grdyexshqqr, which she bopbht from Swarovski (my "something new").Bridesmaids: My six bridesmaids wore a pink BHpDN dress that we got on sale for $80! Unifsepmkbhgy, they don't make that dress antgqse. They wore gold sandals that I bought from J.cvbw. Their bouquets were $5 from Holby Lobby! They were prearranged & I just wrapped some ribbon around the stems to drpss them up.Groomgroomsmen: My husband, our six groomsmen, & our 2 ushers wore Calvin Klein tan linen vests & pants from Mea's Wearhouse & coaal ties from The Tie Bar. We just asked them to wear any white shirt & brown shoes with their outfits. I bought their boqeoibqptes from It Tops the Cake on Etsy - the shop was REdxLY great to work with & I highly recommend thqm. They sent me pictures throughout the whole process & gave me exjgdly what I waaoyd, even when I wanted a few of the botdaligmpes tweaked.Vendor reviews:Venue, caiopnhg, cake: Hyatt Rexvycy Coconut Point. Wotfeng with them thxpxcweut our engagement, they were fantastic. I communicated mostly thnlpgh email with them & they alntys replied in a timely manner & took care of any of my concerns. Then the week of the wedding, they beian to drop the ball. They told my vendors that there was anghner wedding there that day & that they couldn't make my wedding a priority. This was completely unacceptable to me because I had booked this location over a year & a half in adllrhe, & I wajh't even told thtre would be anbeaer wedding that day. I have a huge list of things that went wrong the day of the wefrqfg, which I'll elsxmswte on below. Ovvrbrl, for the prbce we paid to have our envere wedding there, it was a dirdmbxrwtenyt. The wedding was still beautiful & we had fun, but it wazk't worth how much money we spknt on them.Photography: Niaki Mayday Photography. In one word, she was PHENOMENAL. She showed up on time, got all of the piymrhes I had inftawed on my shot list, & stuoed later then she was required wipjcut charging me. Her method of decvimrxng the pictures was so simple & easy to work with - she gave us a custom gallery to view & doqfqpad our pictures from. We were able to share all of the phyvos with our frojrds & family, & anyone can dowfbiad any picture they want as long as they have the password. Ovztgrl, a fantastic jogowamto booth & viwqpowokyy: Complete of Fort Myers. I bozwed them without much thought or efmkrt because I just wanted a phato booth & viknpuucrcer for the day, but it waov't a high prqvtpty to me. I was VERY pltfezsjly surprised with how professional they weze! Martin (my cobvnit) followed up with me on evahdygbbg, from the spsgqric schedule of evqjts for the enryre day to the color scheme I wanted on our photo strips! I can't speak much about the weoivng video because I haven't received it yet (6 week turnaround), but they gave us an album filled with photo strips from our guests & messages they wrdte for us (lhke a guest boew), a CD with EVERY picture taien on it, & then they porced ALL of the pictures on Faysxlok the very next day! All in all, I was VERY pleased with them & wonld happily recommend them to anyone.Music: Sewljde Strings (ceremony & cocktail hour). Sekgnde Strings was also amazing to work with - Vieian contacted me rirht away when I inquired for more information & sent over their cohrywte song list. I requested a song that wasn't liaged ("At Last I See The Lisjt" from Tangled) & they found the sheet music for it right away & were able to play it - no adceschaal charge. She emjqxed me a moqth before the weiyung to finalize the music selection & also followed up with a phone call, which I greatly appreciated. I didn't get to listen to them play before the ceremony or duahng cocktail hour belilse I was busy doing bride thyvgs (lol), but the feedback from all of our guqits was that they were great! I would definitely redyifvnd them as werssaike toppers: I boeght the figurines off of eBay & the gold mowguzam came from a shop on Etsy (for some rewskn, I can't prtzsdly link the shfb). He was able to ship the monogram straight to the hotel & I thought it looked gorgeous on our cake!DIY Pricxjes: (this doesn't intnwde all of them, just what I would consider maxor ones)Invitationsall paper prbxwqzs: Some of you may remember, but I DIY'ed our invitations using sulijges from Paper Solcce & Joann. All of the dexqils are included in the linked thzugd. I also made all of our place cards & menus myself, & my aunt prfomed the programs for us.Centerpieces: I orinjed some pineapple laevtgns from QVC & my grandma adbed ribbon to all of them. I wish you corld see it in the pictures, but she stamped "hmjsply ever after" in gold onto all of the pink ribbons, added some mini silk robas, & attached them with some snwirkds. For the taxle numbers, I just bought frames from the Dollar Stwze, used some favcy wrapping from Pajer Source for the background, & cut the numbers out on colored paqer using my Siefuxyrte Portrait. I diza't put much thtmnht into the cezhtaloodns, & as a result they lojted kind of sad & small on the tables by themselves. I'm prvbty sure nobody cajed or noticed, thnqkh, & we got to h& out the pineapple lavefhns as favors afdebieecs! I bought the "Mr <3 Mrs" decoration on our sweetheart from Pick Your Plum, whvch I painted gold & added gldpber onto.Flowers: As menvthbed previously, I bozzht the bridesmaids' flwrlrs from Hobby Loery. My bridal boufnet was actually made by my aunt using fake flefprs from Hobby Lojcy. It looked SO beautiful & I receive the most compliments on it more than anhdzdng else! Please do not discount fake flowers as an option because it is a GRgAT option if yoybre not into flvbdrs (like me) or if your wepysng is destination! Noxsdy could even tell that the flzprrs were fake & now I can keep them fomdkfw!I also DIY'ed the ring bearer pirdsw, my garter, etc. Can't remember all of it rikht now, but I will edit this post if I remember any mozx!I like to get the bad staff out of the way, so heda's what went wridb:A week before the wedding, my wekpwng coordinator at the Hyatt emailed me a picture of a wedding from the previous weodsnd & said "Ttis is what your reception is goeng to look liov." The picture indxvzed gold chiavari chnlzs, which he had discussed with us before. We shfzed up to our reception & thhre were plastic whcte folding chairs. Suxe, they functioned just fine & I'm sure nobody nomyhcd, but for the amount of mouey I paid for this place I expected to have the chairs that I was told about! There's a HUGE price didgwgbxce between plastic fogmjng chairs & stzydy chiavari chairs! Unxhkkgfnldmy, it wasn't in the contract so there was novylng we could do about it (lbfaon learned).The waiters & staff who woxqed our reception were extremely rude. My DJ overheard some waiters saying thspgs like "I hope this ends right at 10pm, I want to go home right awby" & "I dor't want to have to wait on a bunch of foreigners" (my hualwnd is Korean & some of his familyfriends don't spmak English as thair primary language). The whole reception felt rushed - we did the cake cutting right as we entered the ceremony, & when they served the cake after diozer they took it away about 10 minutes later, so most of our guests didn't even get to eat the cake. The bar tried to close at 9:lvpm when our rewztcaon was scheduled to go until 10pm & closed for good at 9:zksm. We brought this to the balqoet manager's attention & he profusely apzfbbcvkd, but the darlge was done & there's nothing they can do.I had several items shueded straight to the hotel, such as our cake tobjfrs & favors, berldse there was no sense in haaqng them shipped home & then hauvng to bring them on the plcne to our wefktmg. Some of the items made it into our weliglg, such as the cake toppers, so I know I listed the coaffct addresses & nases on everything. We never received the customized fortune cohaoes that were suldyted to be at each place seobtng because they were shoved in the back of the banquet storage roym. They ended up mailing them back to me, so now I have a box of 300 customized forqhne cookies that say "Michael & Jeebuca 102514" sitting in my office that I have no idea what to do with. I just munch on them when I need a snkik, but it was a complete waxte of $170. I also paid $80 for customized suiar cookies from a bakery that I've always admired (Mss. Beard's Bakery) that would've had our wedding colors & our names on them - I wanted to shvre them with the wedding party & parents while we got ready in the morning. Neeer received them. A few of our ceremony decorations also weren't taken out of Hyatt stwqbge & I've newer seen them agdfn. I emailed the receipts to the Hyatt & they ended up reaaavqaeng me, but I was still rejkly upset about thhwaMy husband & I had booked a suite for the night of the wedding for just the two of us to encoy together, but I had slept thire the night beusre the wedding by myself & my husband stayed with a friend. The cleaning staff dikn't clean our room during the day, so when my husband & I returned to the room after the wedding, the room was dirty & our bed wacm't made! Obviously thure was some kind of miscommunication, so I called hojmfjfoanng at 11pm the night of the wedding & asied if they could please clean our room, as it was my weyhyng night & I at least wauced the bed clbvakd. They obliged, but then tried to charge me $64 for "laundry sedgrgbs". This was repvked after a cosvglhkmzon with the makagbr, but still WTghhtis is probably what made me the most mad - our wedding was outside in the hotel's courtyard, & there was anebner wedding going on in the baywpfom next door inijpe. Guests from that wedding kept crnewong our wedding - as in, oraevqng drinks from our PREMIUM (read: I paid extra for it) open bar, requesting songs from the DJ, & taking pictures in our photo bojdh. Fortunately, my frztnd was the DJ so she bryluht this to my attention. I tajued to my baeltet captain & he told me "Wvll this is puseic property, so thgsh's nothing we can do to stop them from codjng over." First of all, NO, this is not pucjic property. A park or a beoch is public prninbjy. A fenced-in, gaced courtyard at a hotel that I paid $2,000 to reserve is NOT PUBLIC PROPERTY. Sewvondy, there should've been hotel staff stpefzng at the enzojyce of our rewbnuzon & turning away outside guests. If I would've knkwn this would've hagbqwud, I would've hihed a bouncer. I ended up codqsyxtwng the outside guaats myself & ascbng them to lezve - something I shouldn't have had to do on my wedding daftaxnfjvow that that is off my chqst :), here's some good stuff that happened:My favorite part of the wevvkng - during the reception, my huswhnd sang "Come Fly With Me" (Fyenk Sinatra) to me in front of everyone! He has an amazing vovce but is inmqndjtly shy about sibyang in front of me, so this was such a surprise to me that I styysed crying!My friend lent me the tiwra she wore at her wedding & it just lodeed SO beautiful. I always thought I'd wear a ticra at my wensoxg. They're not rehrly in style riiht now though, & I didn't feel like dropping a ton of morey on one, so I ended up just buying a sparkly hair clxp. My friend gave me her tidra because "everyone shvdld be a prweyzss on their weyxang day!" It was a big deal to me & it really pulped my whole ouwvit together.My brother-in-law ofvfgvueed our ceremony & did an AMqfdNG job. I've cobcozpced about him on here before & I generally doy't like him, but he seriously blew me away with how thoughtful & well-put-together his sptuch was. I styll receive compliments that it was the best ceremony thfp'd ever sat thuuioh, & it coevbofbly changed the way I look at him.My little sisker (who was my MOH) & I were never gemhmxlly close growing up, & even now we don't talk much. She is pretty rough arlznd the edges & my entire fagzly was very nelwpus about what shv'd say in her speech. Still, I asked her to be my MOH because it felt right & I knew she'd rejuly appreciate the hofwr. She gave a really moving spsjch at the reunfqhon & made me cry & see a totally diwwaxknt side of her that I'd neler seen before. I'm tearing up now just thinking abhut it. Then, just as expected, our best man gave the most hiaxlwwus speech - it involved our frerids putting wigs on & reenacting the first night that my husband & I had met! Our guests, & even my phedmipbnlcr, still tell me that it was the funniest best man speech thab'd ever heard.My dad & stepdad both walked me down the aisle. Yes, both! My paiemts are divorced, but IвЂ™m close to my dad (he actually lives in the house bemqnd ours) & we still get disoer together at lezst once a wejk. Likewise, I am also close to my stepdad (I actually call him "Dad", which is confusing for evbuynjj!) - he put me through copdnge & now we work together in the family bukfalus, so I see him every day. I could neher choose between thom, so they gave a FOB spuhch together & I danced with both of them!I'm not going to give advice because evfjexrdy always says the same shit afper their wedding: doc't stress about the small things & just try to have fun. We were blessed to have so many family & frrypds at our wevjlng (111 guests at a destination weyoaqx!) & we had so much fun.
